Here at Blarney Woollen Mills we have a fantastic team of talented individuals. Not only are they great at what they do, but they are passionate! Many of you would know Lorraine as she is our Customer service manager for our Blarney.com website. She is one of our longest serving staff having worked in Blarney Woollen Mills for the last 27 years.
“I started working at Blarney Woollen Mills when I was just 18 years old. Just out of school and local to Blarney, the Mills has always played a role in the community of Blarney and so I began my career here in the packing and shipping department.”
As Blarney Woollen Mills grew, so did opportunities for staff to branch out into different branches of the business. Lorraine was a natural fit to move into Blarney’s customer service as she has an easy manner and is a fountain of knowledge with regards to products throughout the store.
“As our export business grew, we realised that we needed to be in a position to assist our customers both home and abroad with any queries regarding our product or service.”
What had started as a small business on the grounds of Blarney Woollen Mills had grown not only in size, but from a small mail order catalogue into the full online presence and product selection on Blarney.com with hundreds of gifts right at a click of a mouse.
One of Lorraine's favourite products in the store is our Waterford Giftology Products.
When Blarney Woollen Mills first started their mail order service were no e-mails and all correspondence was done by phone, letter or fax. Today, we have the convenience of e-mail and social media which makes it easier to keep in touch with customers.
“ I have always been aware that what makes us so successful is being accessible and personable to customers. Just because everything is electronic these days doesn’t mean you have to lose that personal touch. I absolutely love my job and the daily communication I have with our customers. Some customers call into the store in Blarney and it’s always great to meet them and put a face to the name.”
One of our best sellers is our sheepskin rug. She has always had one in the house for her children to sit and play on.
Our customers are very important to us and we want to ensure that each and every one receives a great shopping experience.
